Iran short ‘Inner Self’ was honored at Akbank Sanat Short Filmfest in Turkey.

Iranian short film ‘Inner Self’ has been honored at the 16th edition of the Akbank Sanat Short Film Festival in Turkey.

Directed by Mohammad Hormozi, the 15-minute short that has been in contention at the International Short Film Competition section of the Turkish event has succeeded to win a special mention.

“A female violinist wants to enter an office but as she is not attired appropriately for the place, she must stay in the waiting room. While waiting, she is inspired by the things that happen around her there”, reads a brief synopsis for the flick.

‘Inner Self’ has so far attended a number of international film events, including the Grand Off film festival in Poland and the Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh.

The short is also scheduled to attend the Mediawave Film Festival in Hungary.

Established in 2004, Akbank Sanat Short Film Festival aims to encourage short film production and also to support new filmmakers.

A total of 2217 short films from 74 different countries were submitted to the festival’s competition sections.

The short film festival has announced its winners list while it was originally scheduled for March 16–26, 2020. The screenings will take place another time in the future. This postponement in screenings is due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
